Online Coupons – Clicking Your Way to Huge Internet Savings
By Adam Babish

For many years people have enjoyed the weekly paper and especially the Sunday paper due to its extended articles, comics, sells ads, real estate ads, and coupons. In fact, most of the telemarketing calls I get from newspaper companies were attempts to sell just the Sunday paper. In the past this became a mainstream tool for marketing products and sales items. It became a shoppers one-stop shop for the best deals in town. On top of that in the winter months, you could use the newspaper for tingling in your fires in the summer months, washing windows. The newspaper was a marvelous tool spread information, but with a widespread use of the Internet, many retailers have moved online to share deals and offers.

There has been an influx of websites that offer a one-stop shop for sales offers and coupons. They offer the best online and off-line deals and all at the click of your mouse. Research shows that consumers are responding to these marketing campaigns. A report provided by the US Census Bureau indicates that from 2000 US retail e-commerce sales has risen from just over .5% of all sales to upwards of 4% of all sales in the fourth quarter of 2007. Total e-commerce sales for 2007, where estimated at 136.4 billion, an increase of 19% from 2006. Total retail sales in 2007 increased by 4% from 2006. As you can tell, consumers have chosen to shop online more often retail sites. Retail sites have noticed this as well. Another study conducted showed that 30% of Web users are using online coupons. Of the survey Internet users who were aware of online coupons, stated that they would use them in the future.

Like me, you’re probably running a tight budget. Or maybe you just like saving money is a both good reasons to shop online coupons, deals and rebates. Remember, an awesome tool for online shopping is to negotiate with the online retailers. It’s true that you can’t walk into Cosco and tell them that you found an online coupon for 90% of the retail price however, you might be surprised at some of the deals you can use by bringing in a coupon. Don’t forget about the good old yard sales as well. If you’re willing to wake up early enough can find lots and lots of deals. They may be used, but so what! Beyond trying to negotiate with the online retailers were brick-and-mortar stores. Just being a smart shopper can keep your costs down. Remember to use comparison-shopping websites, and always check in the online bargain bin or shop at one of my favorites, EBay.

So remember, online shopping is like using the good old-fashioned newspaper except you get to compare with stores all over the United States for the very best price. This sounds like a good deal to me. I’ve done my research, and now I’m going shopping.
