If you have visited our site before, you know that we like to test all the printing services we promote. We ordered our most recent batch of business cards using Uprinting, although we traditionally used Vistaprint in the past. Although Uprinting was slightly more expensive, the overall quality of the cards was better in our opinion. For some reason, Vistaprint recently seems to cut their business cards a bit too small for our taste. Uprinting’s cards, on the other hand, were just the right size.

Uprinting is currently one of our favorite online printing companies. Like many other online printers, Uprinting makes an effort to be a one-stop shop for all printing-related needs. As such, they offer design services (more on that later), design templates, and direct mail services on top of traditional printing. To use the direct mail services, you can either provide your own list, or purchase one from Uprinting.

Uprinting has the capacity to print just about anything, such as brochures, business cards, calendars, posters, menus, postcards, vinyl banners, folders, and more. In addition, custom size printing is also available. Turnaround time is generally 2 or 3 days, but rush service with a 1-day turnaround is also available for an extra fee. One-on-one assistance is always at hand, with live operators available 24 hours on weekdays.

The user-friendly website provides plenty of help both to expert designers as well as novices, including such things as design assistance, project review options, templates, tutorials and other resources. Uprinting houses a design staff that will create professional materials for you at prices that are hard to beat. If you’ve worked with professional designers before, you are probably used to paying rather exorbitant fees for their services. Thankfully, Uprinting offers competent, highly skilled designers at a fraction of the usual cost.

Business card design starts at just $30, and postcard design starts at $75. Below are samples of designs that Uprinting’s designers can create for you.

Uprinting Design Templates:

If you are working with a limited budget, another option is to use the free design tools offered by Uprinting. All you need to do is provide the pictures and text, and the preformatted layouts will assist you in creating finished products with a clean, organized look. If you don’t have images, there is a stock library available where you can select images to add for as little as $1 each. The samples below will give you an idea of what Uprinting templates look like.

If you want to work with templates that already contain pictures that are laid out professionally, you might want to check out the online design tools available from Vistaprint, Overnight Prints and PsPrint. While Uprinting’s templates are decent, we don’t think they are quite up to par when compared to the tools some other online printing companies offer. On the other hand, if you already have custom images you want to work with, then Uprinting’s templates might be the right place to start.
